My Prayers Have Been Answered! Sort Of. . .
A couple of days ago I suggested there was a need for a conference focused on business blogging. Well, Shazaam!, it turns out there's one already on the books!
According to a post from Dana VanDen Heuvel, the American Marketing Association is going to have a 3 stop tour on blogging and internet marketing. The topic at hand: Incorporating Blogs Into Your Strategic Marketing Plan.
The one-day conference road show will start in Seattle in December, then hit New York and Chicago in early 2005.
Looking at the preliminary agenda and list of presenters, I think this is a good start. Personally, I don't think everything that needs to be accomplished can be in a one-day event. Nevertheless, it is an indication the business blog ball is rolling, and will only pickup speed in the coming year.
I'm actually thinking of developing a conference strictly focused on small business blogging. It would be cover practically every area needed to help small businessowners make effective use of this medium. It would include such topics as HTML and web design, blog platforms, writing effectively, case studies and testimonials, as well as round table discussions for Q&A.
If you are a small businessowner thinking about using a blog, or are already doing so, I'd love to hear from you. What are some topical areas you'd like to see covered?
