Yahoo Advertising on Google?!

Normally, most of my blog posts are directed to small business people, in an effort to provide information useful to them. . .and impress them with how smart I am! However, this one was too good to pass up. I apologize if its a little too much "inside the industry" for you.

I found this on MarketingVox.com's website. . .

It was apparently too tempting to pass up. Yahoo started its own AdWords campaign on Google, advertising on the keyword "RSS" with a link that leads to an RSS resource page on its site. There, most of the links, as on much of yahoo's directory sections, are paid placements, suggesting that the campaign may be an effort at keyword arbitrage. In keyword arbitrage, Yahoo would pay for clicks with the expectation that the Yahoo advertisers will pay more once the original Google visitor arrives.

Think about that, Google's chief competitor, it's arch-rival Yahoo! is advertising in Google AdWords. You know, perhaps there is some application here for small business people after all. If nothing else, this ought you tell you how important it is to get ranked on Google and to seriously consider using Google AdWords to promote your product or brand.

As always. . .we can help! :-)
