Word of the Year: Blog

Merriam-Webster says the #1 most searched word on its Web sites in 2004 was "blog." Who says blogging is not headed mainstream?

Here in Boston, this was the very first story I saw on the Fox 25 (WFXT) Morning News today. My wife, Barbara (who knows how impassioned I am about this revolutionary publishing platform), said to me, "Bob, wake up, blog is the word of the year!" Needless to say, I was thrilled, but frankly, not surprised. After all, you, me, and who knows how many other bloggers out there know we're in on the ground floor of something big (very big) in marketing communications. Finally -- yes, finally -- the mainstream among us is waking up, too, to the vast potential and infinite possibilities inherent in blogging.
