Starting a New Business
I'm thinking about starting a new business. I even have a name for it -- Radiant Marketing Group.
The name says it all really. Radiant - something that shines; brilliant; spreading light; radiate. That's its persona. Marketing - that's its function. It's a marketing business, specifically online marketing. (More about that in a minute.) Group - I will need the help of others to make this happen. While I'm gifted at some things, I don't do web development (the serious coding anyway), and I'm no graphic artist. That's makes three. That qualifies as a group.
My passion is to help small businesspeople grow their business. I'm convinced a lot of small business people know a great deal about the products/services they sell, but not as much about how to sell the product/service.
That's where I come in. I help them get going; help them get a coordinated marketing plan together.
I plan to offer a suite of seven basic services:
1. Web design/development
2. Online store/shopping cart setup
3. E-mail marketing
4. Search engine optimization
5. Google Adwords
6. eBay seller's assistant
7. One page business plan development
Now, what qualifies me to do all this for small businesspeople? I'm glad you asked. I've done it for myself and for the organization with which I work for a number of years. Why not leverage those skills and turn it into some hard cash.
The reason I'm doing this is based on something that Zig Ziglar said years ago: "If you help other people get what they want, they will help you get what you want." (paraphrased) It is a synthesis of altruism and capitalism! CALTRUISM! I'm a caltruist!
What do I want, by the way? To earn or create a million dollars in five years or less. I've got to create an income stream (several actually) that allows me to do that. Radiant Marketing Group is the first.
Any constructive thoughts or admonitions you would care to give would be welcome.
